FAIVELEY Transport announced on November 7 that it received orders with a total value of more than $US 150m from the RailConnect NSW consortium of Hyundai Rotem, UGL and Mitsubishi Electric Australia to supply equipment for NSW TrainLink’s New InterCity Fleet.

Faiveley will supply complete braking systems, doors, HVAC, vigilance units, pantographs, and energy monitoring systems for the fleet of 512 double-deck EMU cars, which will be used on services from Sydney to Newcastle, the Central Coast, South Coast and the Blue Mountains.

As part of the contract Faiveley will maintain the systems for 15 years.

The order involves Faiveley facilities in Australia, France, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, India and China. Deliveries of the equipment will take place between the end of 2017 and September 2020.

The fleet of 65 trains will be delivered to New South Wales between 2019 and 2022.
