DELHI Metro Rail Corporation has issued a call for tenders for the design, manufacture, testing and commissioning of 36 standard-gauge cars for its Airport Express metro line. The tender also calls for training.

The 22.5km Airport Express line links New Delhi main line station with Indira Gandhi International Airport and terminates at Dwarka Section 21. Services are operated by a fleet of eight six-car trains supplied by CAF for the opening of the line in 2010.

Closing date for bids is December 23.
